How to Apply a Cell Style in Excel
Cell Styles are easy to add in Excel, and you can use them to add your own stylish design flair to your workbooks. These can be applied to one or more cells at once, with just a few clicks.
To add a style to a cell, click into the cell to select it. You can also select multiple cells if you want to apply the identical Cell Style to several cells at once.
Next, go to the Home tab. You’ll find this on Excel’s ribbon, the set of menus and tabs across the top of your spreadsheet window. Click on Home to open it up if it isn’t already selected.
The option you’re looking for is the Cell Styles dropdown. It’s on the right side of the Home tab. Click on it to open up the dropdown gallery of styles that you can apply to your selected cells. You’ll see an array of options.
Some help you categorize your data; good, bad, neutral, and so on. Others are simpler color elements, with varying accents and levels of shading. Plus, there are designs focused on header text and more. As you can see, there are plenty of designs that you can choose from to add extra style to your workbooks.
To apply a style, simply click on its thumbnail. Excel will instantly add your chosen design to your selected cells.
