But from time to time, you may find yourself needing to change or edit hyperlinks that you or others have placed in your spreadsheets. Fortunately, this is very easy to do. Let’s learn how to edit hyperlinks in Microsoft Excel.

How to Edit Hyperlinks in Excel

Imagine that you have a link in a particular cell, like cell B4 on a worksheet. Now, you want to make changes to it. These changes can take several forms. You might want to modify the link text to give it a proper name. Or, you might want to change the link so it directs users to a different location. Or, you might want to remove the link to simply show the URL without it being clickable.

All of these options and more exist on Excel’s Edit Hyperlink menu. This menu works with any cell that contains a hyperlink, and it’s very simple to access.

To access Edit Hyperlink, begin by clicking into any cell that contains a hyperlink. Then, right-click on the cell. You’ll see a dropdown with a series of options. The one you want is Edit Hyperlink. Go ahead and click it.

Excel will launch the Edit Hyperlink menu. You’ll see an array of options like the ones outlined above. Go ahead and make any changes that you want to make, then click OK (or Cancel if you change your mind).
